Last night I attended All Systems Go 4 at Tech4Music – a focused and informative evening for DJs to explore the latest sound and lighting innovations. The event offered a welcoming and relaxed space to get hands-on with new gear, ask questions, and connect with fellow professionals.
There wasn’t a single main feature, but rather a solid mix of demonstrations and displays. Arthur from ElectroVoice showcased the new Evolve 70 and Evolve 90 column speakers. The EV 90s, in particular, sounded absolutely lush – clean, powerful, and refined. At around £6,000 a pair, they felt like a serious investment that delivers serious quality, ideal for DJs who value sound clarity and reliability.
Over at the Chauvet DJ stand, Rob and Naomi were on hand to walk through their latest lighting fixtures. It was a great opportunity to explore practical setups, ask technical questions, and see how their products could enhance typical DJ rigs. Being able to speak directly with the people behind the brand added real value.
Beyond the kit, what stood out was the professional yet friendly atmosphere – a chance to catch up with others in the industry and share knowledge in person. That said, it was noticeable that the turnout could (and should) have been bigger.
More DJs need to get off the sofa and support these events. They’re free, informative, and tailored specifically for our industry. If we want suppliers and manufacturers to continue investing in the DJ community, we have to show up.
A big thanks to Tech4Music for putting together a brilliant evening. If there’s another All Systems Go, I’ll be there – and I hope to see more of you there too.
