NADJ CIC has registered its interest in becoming a recognised delivery organisation capable of supporting individuals who access MOD resettlement and transition funding, subject to the relevant approval and recognition frameworks.
Resettlement and transition support provided through the Ministry of Defence is intended to help service leavers, reservists, veterans and their families move into civilian employment or self-employment. Under these schemes, the individual applies for the funding, while education, training or employability support must be delivered by a recognised or approved provider. NADJ CIC’s role is to provide a structured, accountable pathway through which eligible individuals can use that funding within the DJ and events sector.
The emphasis is on practical, outcomes-led provision rather than generic training. Planned areas of support include professional education, networking and mentoring, alongside core business skills such as marketing, administration, accounting, social media management and website development. Pathways may also include guidance on equipment purchase or leasing, vehicle leasing for mobile work, and structured support to build confidence, gain experience and secure first paid gigs.
Alongside individual resettlement pathways, NADJ CIC will continue to explore separate organisational funding opportunities aligned with Armed Forces Covenant priorities, where appropriate.
Crucially, this work reflects NADJ CIC’s not-for-profit model. Unlike commercial competitors, NADJ CIC does not extract value for private gain. While this activity benefits the individual participant and strengthens NADJ CIC as an organisation, it also creates a sustainable income stream that can be reinvested to support the wider DJ industry. Any surplus generated through recognised delivery activity is put back into education, networking, standards development and member support, ensuring that growth in one area delivers long-term benefit across the entire community.
