Many DJs currently invest significant amounts each month on lead platforms such as Bark, Add2Event, Stars Of Service, Hitched and Bridebook, as well as wider marketing through Meta Ads and Google Ads. While these services can generate enquiry volume, the reality is that much of the response comes from cold, low-intent prospects, often focused primarily on finding the lowest price rather than the right professional.
This environment frequently encourages a race to the bottom, where quality, experience and professionalism become secondary to cost. As a result, DJs may find themselves spending both time and money chasing enquiries that have little chance of converting at a sustainable fee level.
The NADJ Marketplace takes a different approach by focusing on qualified opportunities within a professional framework that supports realistic pricing expectations from the outset. Rather than competing purely on price, members will be responding to enquiries where value and service standards are already reflected in the suggested fee levels.
The question for many DJs is a simple one: if you are already spending £100 or more each month on platforms that deliver cold or uncertain leads, would you consider investing the same amount for access to targeted opportunities designed to generate genuine interest, fair pricing and a more sustainable working environment?
The NADJ Directory and Marketplace is being relaunched, and while the concept may sound new, it was first trialled three years ago. At the time, the platform was arguably ahead of the curve and many members did not fully engage with what it offered. The market has evolved, expectations have shifted, and now is the right time to introduce the system again with a clearer understanding of how it can support members’ businesses.
This is more than a directory. The platform combines a professional listing service with a dedicated DJ marketplace. Clients can post their event requirements, and DJs who match the location, availability and service criteria will automatically receive an email and SMS invitation to respond. This creates active opportunities rather than relying only on passive visibility.
As an NADJ platform, pricing expectations can be guided from the outset. Suggested minimum fees will start at £500 for less involved events, with £1,000 expectations for members who meet the criteria to operate at that level. This helps protect professional standards and supports sustainable pricing.
We have built in AI to help write your listing bio and give you the best chance of success – as we know many DJ’s never get around to doing this! – Ahem!
Key features include:
• Client job posting with automatic DJ matching
• Email and SMS notifications for new opportunities
• Suggested minimum pricing to support market value and limits on applications
• Open access for non-members, with paid lead purchase
• NADJ members able to apply for up to three jobs per month
• Unlimited applications for Gold members
• Optional profile promotion within the marketplace
• NADJ-managed Google and Meta advertising directing clients to member listings
• Tiered access to higher-value enquiries
This structure balances member value while encouraging non-members to experience the benefits of joining the Association.
Many DJs currently spend significant monthly budgets on third-party platforms for cold enquiries. This initiative allows that investment to stay within the industry and focus on targeted, relevant leads.
The directory and marketplace is still in development, so not available to the public yet – but you can check it’s progress and update your profile here: https://www.directory.nadj.org.uk/
As with any platform in development, there will be bugs – so please do call them out as you find them – this will ensure that they are ironed out prior to the full public launch.
