A question that keeps coming up is:
“Wayne, we like the ambition and the move towards paid staff rather than volunteers – but how does the CIC actually pay for them?”
The short answer is: by organising things many of you already pay for, and doing them collectively.
NADJ Media Ltd has been set up as the in-house provider for practical services DJs routinely need. For example:
If you pay someone to update your website, write your pages, or manage hosting, that can now be done through NADJ Media.
If you pay for directory profiles, advertising setup, or help following up enquiries, that can be handled centrally.
If you miss calls while working events, or don’t want to deal with admin during the week, call taking and clerical support are available.
If you need help setting up a CRM, managing leads, chasing paperwork, or keeping on top of emails, that’s covered too.
Individually, these services are usually bought from different suppliers who don’t understand DJ businesses. Here, they’re delivered by paid staff working only for the industry, through one point of contact.
Training works the same way. Online self-guided courses on the hub will remain free. On top of that, we’ll be running group training sessions and offering 1-to-1 training, both online and face-to-face. That might be practical website training, systems setup, marketing, or business processes – not generic theory.
Some DJs are happy using AI tools for copy and admin. Others aren’t, or don’t want to rely on them. This model supports both. Use AI where it works for you, and use human support where experience, judgement, and accountability matter.
The CIC still receives membership fees and pays NADJ Media for agreed operational support. NADJ Media also provides additional services directly. As it grows, value flows back into the CIC through subsidised services, staff time, and reduced costs, alongside other commercial activity planned from 2026.
The new membership tiers simply mean this: the more you commit upfront, the bigger the discount you get on services you may already be paying for elsewhere.
One system. One team. Less duplication. Lower costs over time.
