With 2026 just around the corner, I thought it would be a good time to share with you all our 3-year roadmap.
NADJ is implementing a new roadmap designed to strengthen the association, increase what we deliver for members and grow our influence across the UK. The plan is built around seven pillars that will guide our work and our investment.
Organisational Structure and Workforce
NADJ will formalise its structure as a CiC and build a small, dedicated and paid team over the next three years so that services, events and projects are delivered consistently and professionally.
By the end of Year 3 this is expected to include three full-time staff, with a combined cost-to-company of around £130,000–£150,000 per year once Employer NI, pensions, insurance, equipment and HR compliance are included.
Membership Model and Growth
The existing £75/year membership remains the foundation for now, albeit unchanged for more than 15 years. All members receive £25 off their renewal when introducing a brand-new member, meaning you effectively reduce your membership to £50.
Alongside this, NADJ will introduce higher-tier memberships for DJs and multi-ops who want additional business support and visibility, as previously proposed and consulted on.
These tiers will generate the income needed to fund improved services for everyone, while providing practical tools for those who subscribe to them. This includes call-taking, lead generation, follow-ups, CRM access and related business-support services within one rolled-up monthly fee.
Digital Technology and Growth
NADJ will roll out and enhance key digital tools including the NADJ app, online radio, and an improved lead and SMS system to support members in day-to-day business. This will be supported by a more consistent social media presence.
Digital operations such as hosting, SMS credits, streaming, software and maintenance are expected to cost approximately £10,000–£15,000 per year once fully implemented.
Education, Training and Apprenticeships
By Year 3, NADJ will become an apprenticeship provider. The initial target is 10 apprentices per year, drawing down £28,000 per apprentice — a total of £280,000 per year.
Apprenticeship delivery and compliance are expected to cost around £40,000–£50,000 per year, with the remaining surplus reinvested into NADJ.
Partnerships, Sponsorship and Growth
NADJ will actively work with brands, retailers, manufacturers and funding bodies. Alongside sponsorships and grants, we will also look to purchase or adopt relevant brands, websites, media assets and social channels where opportunities arise.
Marketing, Outreach and Reputation
NADJ will increase its visibility with DJs, venues, suppliers, industry partners and the wider public, reinforcing the value of choosing a professional NADJ member.
Marketing, PR and outreach activity is expected to require approximately £10,000–£15,000 per year.
Events and Community
We will grow our regional mixer events and partner on major national events, supporting both member networking and NADJ’s wider industry presence.
Event delivery costs, including venue hire, logistics, production, insurance and travel, are expected to fall within £20,000–£30,000 per year.
Financial Goals
Bringing these pillars together, NADJ is aiming for annual revenue of approximately £900,000–£1,000,000 by Year 4, combining membership income, apprenticeships, sponsorships, grants, add-ons and digital services.
After deducting expected running costs, NADJ anticipates a realistic annual surplus of £600,000–£725,000, allowing sustained reinvestment into member services, national events, staffing and long-term stability.
These projections are goals, not guarantees. Even partial delivery — 25% or 50% — still places NADJ in a significantly stronger and more sustainable position.
This isn’t “pie in the sky”. These opportunities already exist. NADJ V2 will be in a position to join the dots and deliver them for the benefit of its members.
Members: You can view the full roadmap and detailed explainers on the Hub.
Non-members: Even if you hold PLI elsewhere or belong to another organisation, don’t change that — but 2026 will be an excellent time to join or re-join NADJ alongside those memberships.
