The exclusive launch of the Denon DJ Prime 4 standalone DJ system was clearly the highlight of the evening. This is truly a game-changing product that won Music Radar’s best of NAMM award at the recent NAMM event in Anaheim, California. Members were able to get hands-on and clearly loved the product and saw that Denon DJ has worked very hard to ensure the Prime 4’s success.
Following the launch, NADJ Chairman Pete Hawkins announced the inclusion of separate PLI cover for photo booths in our NADJ Pro membership option. NADJ is the first DJ association to offer this at no extra charge to its members. You can read more about it by clicking here!
Pete also introduced the launch of our brand new website for 2019! NADJ-member Ian Forest gave a quick’ish demo of the new site and it’s certainly something that the NADJ are proud of. Fully optimised for whatever platform or browser you use, the new website will allow you to keep up to date with the NADJ and more importantly, allow you to manage your membership easily. The new site also allows our branches to showcase themselves properly in order to gain new members.
Rob Moore and Lee Garrett from Chauvet DJ brought a range of items including the Intimidator Spot 260 and Spot 110 moving heads, the popular GigbarFLEX compact 3-in-one lighting system and the Freedom H1 battery-operated LED wash lights. They also very kindly provided some Freedom Par’s and Sticks to help light up the venue to add some extra pizazz to help us launch the Denon DJ Prime 4 in style.
Yamaha celebrated their first attendance at a NADJ meeting with their new flagship DZR-series powered loudspeakers and DXS XLF-series powered subs. A number of different products throughout their range were demoed individually and also paired up with matching sub’s resulting in lots of nodding heads from the crowd.
Jack Wilson and Steve Boys from BPM came along with some information on their plans for this year. Both chaps bring a huge amount of events organisation experience together with support from well-known industry figures Mark Parkhouse from FBT and Kris Dawber from ADJ. BPM 2019 is already looking to be an awesome event with some of the biggest names in DJ-specific audio and lighting companies in attendance. NADJ will be there hosting one of the educational zones on the day and so will our friends from SEDA. Don’t forget that NADJ Pro members are entitled to a FREE ticket for BPM on the Sunday worth £7.50 and NADJ Standard members get a discounted ticket which costs just £5.00. You can sign up for this online by clicking here.
Toni Cavallo from SpeedyPix brought his super-popular Selfie Wizard system along to demo to our members. It really is a fantastic product to upsell to your clients, especially at weddings and 18th birthdays. Some of the pictures our members uploaded on the night were incredibly amusing, to say the least! Toni has very kindly donated one of these systems worth £699.00 as one of the prizes in our grand mega-draw, details coming soon!
Steve Honeyball, representing Pro Mobile magazine took loads of pictures for us which you can see below! Pro Mobile magazine has always been a fantastic publication for our industry and as NADJ members you get a free subscription! There are still a few tickets left for the Pro Mobile conference this year on the 25th and 26th March so if you haven’t secured your place yet, then do it right now!
Euan Bass gave us an insight into his upcoming Microphone workshop in February. NADJ members can take advantage of an exclusive 12% discount on the ticket price. You can email Euan directly or you can message him on Facebook to get the code!
The meeting was concluded with the raffle and we’d like to thank Chauvet, BPM, Yamaha, Pro Mobile and Mastermix for their kind donation of prizes! We’d also like to thank Sparkular UK for providing the machines and sparks for the extra WOW factor during the Prime 4 and website launch!
Keep an eye out on the London branch page for details of its next meeting in March!
Enjoy the pictures 🙂
