Dear member,
We are writing to inform you of an update regarding NADJ CiC’s relationship with Pro Mobile.
Following a recent and thorough review of NADJ member benefits and external partnerships, we have taken the decision to bring our group Pro Mobile subscription and associated sponsorship arrangements to a close with immediate effect.
Why we’ve made this decision
NADJ’s membership fee of £75 has remained unchanged for many years, and during that time the cost of providing certain benefits has increased significantly. As part of our responsibility to operate sustainably and in the best interests of members, we have reviewed all benefits to ensure they deliver clear, direct value and remain appropriate for the organisation going forward.
While NADJ CiC has introduced higher subscription tiers, these do not sufficiently offset the overall cost of providing the publication to the wider NADJ membership. As a result, continuing the arrangement would mean member funds being used in a way that is no longer sustainable or proportionate.
As a Community Interest Company (CiC), NADJ is also required to ensure that member funds are used solely for the benefit of members. This review process was therefore necessary to ensure compliance, good governance, and long‑term stability.
We would like to stress that this decision is not based on a single issue. Rather, it reflects a broader reassessment of priorities as NADJ continues to evolve and refocus on activities and benefits that best serve its membership today and into the future.
What this means for members
- Pro Mobile magazine subscriptions will no longer be provided as part of NADJ membership.
- NADJ will also no longer sponsor or formally support Pro Mobile events.
- Members who value Pro Mobile and wish to continue receiving it are very welcome to do so by subscribing directly with Pro Mobile. This decision does not prevent individual members from engaging with, or supporting, Pro Mobile independently.
Looking ahead
We remain fully committed to supporting our members and to investing NADJ resources in benefits that provide tangible value, fairness, and sustainability. We are actively reviewing and developing alternative member benefits which we will share with you in due course.
We would like to thank Pro Mobile for the positive experiences and collaboration shared over the years and wish them well for the future.
If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to contact us.
Kind regards,
Wayne Davies
On behalf of the National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ) CiC
1. Why has NADJ decided to end the Pro Mobile subscription?
Following a review of member benefits, NADJ concluded that continuing the Pro Mobile subscription was no longer financially sustainable or best aligned with our responsibilities as a Community Interest Company. The cost of providing the publication to all members outweighs the value it delivers as a bundled benefit.
2. Is this decision related to a single issue or disagreement?
No. This decision is not based on any one incident. It reflects a broader reassessment of sustainability, member value, and NADJ’s future direction.
3. Has my NADJ membership fee increased because of this?
No. NADJ membership remains £75, unchanged. This decision has been taken to help protect long‑term stability and ensure membership fees continue to represent good value.
4. Will Pro Mobile magazine still be sent to NADJ members?
No. Pro Mobile will no longer be included as part of NADJ membership. This applies with immediate effect following the termination of the group arrangement.
5. Can I still subscribe to Pro Mobile if I want to?
Yes. Members who value Pro Mobile are free to continue or start a subscription directly with Pro Mobile. This decision does not restrict individual choice or engagement.
6. Why can’t NADJ continue paying for it on behalf of members?
As a Community Interest Company, NADJ must ensure member funds are used solely for direct member benefit. Continuing to fund an arrangement that no longer represents fair value for the wider membership would not meet this obligation.
7. Is NADJ ending all involvement with Pro Mobile?
Yes. In addition to ending the group subscription, NADJ will no longer sponsor or formally support Pro Mobile events or activities.
8. Does this mean NADJ is removing other benefits as well?
All benefits are periodically reviewed. Any future changes will be communicated transparently and will be made with the aim of strengthening long‑term value and sustainability for members.
9. Will there be replacement benefits for members?
NADJ is actively reviewing and developing alternative benefits and initiatives. Updates will be shared with members once these are confirmed.
10. Who can I contact if I have questions or concerns about this change?
If you have any questions, feedback, or concerns, you are welcome to contact NADJ directly using the usual contact channels. We value member input and engagement.
