There’s a new orange tab on the right-hand side of your screen — and it’s not just another chat widget that takes your email and promises someone will “get back to you”. The new NADJ Assistant is built into our own systems, which means it doesn’t just answer questions. It actually does things for you.
It takes action, not messages
Most website chatbots are a suggestion box with a friendly face. Ours is wired directly into the NADJ membership platform, so when you’re logged in it can:
- Fetch your PLI certificate on the spot. Ask for it and the Assistant pulls the direct download link from your latest order — no digging through emails, no waiting for office hours. It’ll also remind you that you may not need the PDF at all: your Directory listing carries a live PLI verification link, and the QR code on your e-Membership Card opens it with one scan. Proof of £10m cover, in a venue manager’s hand, in seconds.
- Sort your login. Forgotten password? The Assistant triggers a secure reset straight to your registered email, there and then.
- Check your renewal. Next payment date, amount, your recent orders and invoices — asked and answered.
- Change your plan. Upgrading from Standard to Gold? The Assistant shows you the price, confirms it with you, and applies the change to your subscription — keeping you on the same monthly or annual billing you already have.
- Handle cancellations properly. No dark patterns, no hidden exit. If you want to leave, the Assistant walks you through it — though don’t be surprised if it makes you an offer worth staying for first.
Everything you do in the chat is logged securely against your membership record, so if you ever need to follow up with the team, they already have the full picture. No repeating yourself.
It knows NADJ inside out
Beyond account actions, the Assistant is loaded with genuinely useful answers: how to get your e-Membership Card into your phone’s wallet, how to edit every section of your Directory listing, how our AI Bio Generator writes your profile biography from your real reviews and awards, how venue affiliation gets you featured on your resident venue’s page, where the gigs board lives, what every link in your account menu does, how NADJ’s Community Interest Company structure protects your membership fees — and plenty more.
And here’s the clever bit: every answer has a simple 👍/👎 at the bottom. Tell it an answer didn’t quite cover what you needed, and your feedback goes straight to the team so the Assistant gets better every week. You’re not talking to a black box — you’re helping build the tool.
Built for every member — accessibility that actually matters
We DJ in dark rooms, but not everyone wants to read in one. Two taps in the chat header put you in control:
- ☀️ Day mode — a high-contrast light colour scheme for bright rooms, tired eyes, or simple preference. Tap the moon to switch back. Your choice is remembered for next time.
- ⤢ Double size — one tap roughly doubles the chat window with larger text and bigger buttons throughout. Ideal on a big monitor, or whenever small type is a strain.
Under the hood, the Assistant is screen-reader friendly, fully keyboard-navigable with visible focus indicators, and it respects your device’s reduced-motion setting — if you’ve told your phone or computer you prefer less animation, the Assistant listens.
Your conversation, your control
Want a record of what was said? Ask the Assistant to email you the transcript and it lands in your inbox. On a shared computer? Hit the end chat button and the conversation is wiped from the session instantly — while staying safely logged with the team. Leave a page mid-conversation and come back? It picks up exactly where you left off.
Everywhere you are
The Assistant isn’t just on nadj.org.uk. You’ll find the same orange tab on the NADJ Directory and across our network — one assistant, one conversation history, wherever you happen to be.
Try it now
Look for the Member Help tab on the right-hand edge of your screen. Ask it for your PLI certificate. Ask it how to get more out of your Directory listing. Ask it something awkward and see what happens.
It’s on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — because your business doesn’t keep office hours, and neither should your association.
Not a member yet? Ask the Assistant about joining — there’s no joining fee, full membership starts from £4 a month with £10m PLI included, and Youth and Affiliate membership are free.
