If you do not regularly read NADJ’s news, emails and member updates, it is understandable that you might assume very little is happening. Much of the work required to build a stronger professional association happens behind the scenes, often months before members see the finished result.
Since NADJ became a Community Interest Company, an enormous amount has been delivered or set in motion. This includes establishing the CIC and two limited companies, completing the NADJ trade mark registration, rebuilding governance, producing compliance policies, undertaking a substantial member-data audit and developing the new membership structure.
Alongside this, work continues on the Member Command Centre, NADJ Directory and Marketplace, member Hub, app, radio stream, e-membership cards, NFC contact sharing, Power Planner, RAMS Builder and wider Member Business Toolkit.
There is also the less visible work behind City & Guilds and Highfield registration, First Aid and PAT/EET training, Rugby Borough Council grant applications, regional Tea & Test days, the annual NADJ Member Handbook and communications across email, web, app and Hub. NADJ’s AI-assisted publishing systems also require continuous human direction, checking, correction and maintenance.
Some projects are complete. Others are live and improving, in development or waiting on external decisions and dependencies. A delay does not mean nothing is happening.
It is easy to criticise what cannot immediately be seen. Our responsibility is to remain patient, ignore uninformed assumptions and stay the course. Every decision must support a sustainable, properly governed association that delivers genuine value for its members.
NADJ has never been in such strong shape, and the work continues.
