Following the success of the 2026 inaugural CRE8, PLASA and Headliner have announced that the flagship event for DJs, producers and self-producing artists will return on Saturday 10 April 2027, promising an even bigger and more ambitious experience.
Building on the momentum of its debut at Tileyard North in Wakefield, CRE8 2027 will deliver a supercharged version of the original event, expanding the exhibition, education programme and live experiences to create an even more immersive destination for the next generation of music creators.
Launched by PLASA and Headliner in partnership with Tileyard and supported by Sonical, QSC, SoundOn, Crossfader and TikTok LIVE, CRE8 was created to offer an experience combining professional equipment, education, live performance and community for DJs, producers and self-producing artists.
The 2027 exhibition is set to extend into the venue’s courtyard, creating additional space for DJ activations, live demonstrations and hands-on experiences from leading music technology brands. Meanwhile, the talks and panel programme will move upstairs into dedicated spaces, creating a more focused show experience while leaving the main floor packed with the latest products and innovations from across the music technology industry.
Held at Tileyard North in March 2026, the inaugural event welcomed internationally recognised DJs, producers, artists and industry professionals for a full day of performances, networking, educational sessions and hands-on access to the latest music technology.
Throughout the day, attendees experienced a packed programme of back-to-back DJ sets, product demonstrations and creative workshops, alongside the Behind the Beat educational series. Broadcast on TikTok LIVE, the series explored the key stages of music creation, including beatmaking, vocal production and track breakdowns, featuring open Q&As with leading producers and DJs.
CRE8 2026 also featured a wide-ranging panel programme designed to support artists at every stage of their journey. Sessions explored the realities of artist management, record labels, promotion, live bookings, artist representation and social media strategy, giving attendees insight into the industry decisions that shape sustainable careers.
The event also looked ahead to the future of music creation, with discussions around immersive audio and next-generation hearing technologies, exploring how advances in production, technology and performance are changing the way music is created and experienced.
CRE8 also supported Restore The Music (RTM), a charity that resources music departments in schools where more than 50% of pupils receive free school meals, ensuring the event delivers genuine community benefit alongside industry inspiration.
“CRE8 was created to give the next generation of DJs, producers and self-producing artists a place to connect, learn and be inspired, and seeing the response to our inaugural event has reinforced how much appetite there is for something like this,” said Headliner Group COO, Rian Zoll-Khan.
“Building on that success, CRE8 2027 will take everything that worked so well this year and take it to the next level, with more activations and opportunities to get hands-on with the latest technology, and an even stronger focus on education and creativity. We’re excited to make the event bigger, better and continue growing CRE8 into a defining platform for the future of music creators.”
“The energy at the inaugural event demonstrated the value of creating a welcoming, hands-on environment where aspiring DJs, producers and artists can explore new tools, develop their skills and build meaningful industry connections. We’re proud to continue working with Headliner and our partners to expand that opportunity in 2027, while supporting the growth of creative communities in Wakefield and across the UK” said PLASA Managing Director, Peter Heath.
The launch of CRE8 in Wakefield also marked a step in supporting the UK’s creative communities outside London. Hosted at Tileyard North, opposite The Hepworth, the event highlighted the growing importance of the North’s music ecosystem and reinforced CRE8’s ambition to bring opportunities, education and industry access to creators across the UK.
For 2027, organisers are building on that foundation with an expanded show floor, more live experiences, increased DJ activations and an enhanced programme of talks, panels and workshops.
With further announcements on exhibitors, speakers, artists, activations and new features to follow, CRE8 2027 aims to become the essential meeting point for the next generation of DJs, producers and self-producing artists, bringing together the technology, knowledge and people shaping the future of music.
