The sessions are being delivered through We DJ and On The Rise Academy, with several free workshops taking place at Westend DJ, Hanway Street. These sessions cover a clear progression route, starting with beginners before moving through intermediate skills, an all-women beginner session and a dedicated scratching workshop.

Why This Matters to NADJ Members
Training opportunities like this are important because they help create better entry points into the DJ industry. Many people begin with enthusiasm but little structure. Workshops can help new DJs understand equipment, music handling, performance basics and the wider expectations of professional DJ work.
For NADJ members, this is also a reminder that supporting the next generation is good for the whole sector. Better education leads to better standards, stronger communities and fewer people entering the market without guidance.
Further July Sessions
There is also a specialist FLX training session taking place on 18 July at the North London branch of Westend DJ.
In addition, a new series of workshops aimed at DJs over 40 begins with a Hip Hop Edition on 26 July. Future sessions are expected to include style-focused workshops covering Jungle, Garage and Old Skool.
A Positive Step for DJ Education
Whether members attend, recommend the sessions to someone starting out, or simply support the idea, these workshops reflect something NADJ has always valued: development, education and shared knowledge.
Professional DJing is not just about owning equipment. It is about skill, preparation, judgement and respect for the craft. Accessible workshops like these can help build those foundations early.
